Phi Delta Chi is a professional pharmacy fraternity. It was founded on November 02, 1883. Its objective is to advance the science of pharmacy and its allied interests, and to foster and promote a fraternal spirit among its members. Currently, there are 103 collegiate chapters throughout the nation.
Our chapter, Gamma Iota, was chartered by the Alpha Psi chapter in University of the Pacific. It was established on January 23, 2010 in California Northstate University, College of Pharmacy by Dr. San Quach. When the chapter first started, our chapter consisted of 27 founding members, 11 second year students, and 16 first year students. We are a co-ed organization who call each other "Brothers" because every member is equal. Gamma Iota has had 9 pledge classes since 2010. There are currently 45 active Brothers on campus.
Gamma Iota--along with the other 101 chapters--aims to strengthen and promote scholastic, professional, and social growth for each Brother. Being a Brother of Phi Delta Chi means being a leader in pharmacy. Each Brother develops the skills and the knowledge needed to be a leader throughout his or her time at CNU. Our chapter provides a plethora of community services, health fairs, leadership conferences, and professional workshops for each Brother to take advantage of. As a result, a Brother is able to provide quality services for his or her patient beyond graduation, thereby, advancing public health.
Phi Delta Chi's motto is Alterum Alterius Auxilio Eget (AAAE), which means, Each Needs the Help of the Other. The Gamma Iota Brothers exemplify what it means to be a Brother as they each practice and embody AAAE to the best of their abilities whenever they get a chance. Being kind, humble, and genuine are among the outstanding traits of our Brothers. These traits solidify our Brotherhood now and for years to come.
Indeed, it is true: ΦΔΧ - Leaders in Pharmacy, Brothers for Life!
Hail to Phi Dex!
