Pardon our dust! It's been awhile since we posted. We would like to thank all those who supported our Fireworks Fundraiser this year! It was great catching up with some Bros and even our Alumni! We hope you had a wonderful 4th of July!

Summer is quickly coming to an end! We would like to thank everyone who help support our fireworks fundraiser and our Chapter overall. Come catch us at our first event at Club Day on August 26th 4:00-7:30pm located on the CNU Campus. Just look for the folks in Old Gold and Dregs of wine!
Happy first day of Winter, everybody! Hope everyone is keeping warm and cozy and enjoying the time off of school! It's the perfect time to catch up on some family time, see some old friends, and pay off some sleep debt! It's an even more perfect time to register for Regionals! Whooooo! Gamma Iota is soo excited to host the Pacific Regional Conference this coming January! We hope you're even more excited to attend! So, please visit http://pdcprc2016.weebly.com/ and don't lose your registration spot! There's so many things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving season and there isn't enough character space to write them all...! However, Gamma Iota would like to express how thankful the 5-weeks long pledging process is over... and we're especially grateful that we have a new addition to the ΦΔΧ family! Welcome Zeta class!
Who is excited for Rush to start?! The Brothers of Gamma Iota are! We can't wait to meet and mingle with all the new potentials. It's going to be a very busy month ahead of us, especially with school on top of it, but our Bros are built for these kinds of challenges. And over the years, our Bros have mastered time-managing skills that will last beyond pharmacy school.
In any case, here's to having a great Rush Season! Rush Phi Dex! Be with the Best! Our bros had such an incredible time at the 70th Grand Council this year! We represented GI chapter loud and proud! Go PhiDex! We got plaques for having a 100% on Dale W Doerr Achievement Award Program and being in 3rd place in the Albert Benjamin Prescott Scholarship Award along with a $200 check! In addition, we also got 9th place in Emory W. Thurston Grand President's Cup! Most importantly, there are no words nor awards to express how much we loved bonding with other Brothers from all over the nation! What an unbelievable week-long experience!
What a successful Phantom Fireworks fundraiser! Thank you, eternally, for those who were able to stop by and help our GI bros with our annual fundraiser! Yes, it was warm outside the whole week, but what's even warmer, are our hearts, due to your generosity and support. Have a safe 4th of July everybody!
Yesterday was an enormous day for some of our Gamma Iota Brothers! Congratulatory shout outs to our P1 class on their White Coat Ceremony and to our P4 class on their graduation!
Our time being pharmacy students is to be treasured. Every upper classmen would attest that “it goes by so fast.” The consensus advices seem to be: love what you’re learning, take advantage of your resources, expand your network, keep your friendships strong, and continue to grow personally and professionally. Along with diligence and common sense, these advices guarantee 100% success in pharmacy school. The Brothers of Gamma Iota would also like to extend another congratulatory note to our outstanding chapter advisor and Brother, Dr. Frausto. We are thrilled that she is taking on a new position outside of CNU community. Under Dr. Frausto’s supervision, GI chapter grew and accomplished many things. Our chapter will heed Dr. Frausto’s past mentorship and continue to excel in our projects and services in the future. We will certainly miss her presence around campus and we only wish her the best of luck! As Ernest Hemingway once said, “It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end.” A very applicable statement to the class of 2018, class of 2015, and Dr. Frausto! Congratulations in starting a new journey! As the Spring semester comes to a close, the Phi Dex bros continue to put on their best efforts to serve the community by putting on two back to back professional events! First event was Pharmacy Intern Workshop. The upper class bros shared their insights, tips, tricks, and trades with the P1s regarding introductory rotations. Well done presentation, Phi Dex! The next event was the Multicultural Potluck where the brothers showcased their culinary skills. They made their signature dishes to feed both the students and faculty members during the lunch hour. This was their biggest philanthropic event that garnered a total of $710.00 which was all donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Phi Delta Chi expresses its utmost gratitude to those who came out and supported these events. It would not have been possible without YOU!
February, 28, 2015 Some Phi Dex bros helping out at the Vietnamese Tet Festival today! it is always so great to see the benefits of pharmacy transcending cultures! March 30, 2015
Shout out to some of our GI bros for helping out at Fairytale Town, one of our chapter's favorite service events of the year! This event combines action, education, AND service - by running an interactive booth to encourage children to have fun by staying active while simultaneously educating parents on childhood obesity! Welcome back, everyone!! The Gamma Iota bros all had an awesome end to the first semester of the year - let's take a look at some end-of-semester highlights that went down since we last posted. Firstly and most importantly... THE EPSILONS CROSSED! Their list of pledging accomplishments was extensive: teaching high school students about nutrition, cooking up a storm for their lunch fundraiser, and even running their own auction! In the end, the Epsies prevailed and were initiated into our Phi Dex family! Our WMA, Brother Christopher Ignacio, made an amazing leader. Outside of pledging and inititaiton, the bros still managed to stay relentless in our pursuit of improving the pharmacy world, helping out the community, and growing even closer as a family. November and December were crazy! And those were just the highlights! Gamma Iota bros: here's to an even bigger second semester! AAAE!
We are proud to say that for the first time in our chapter's history, we have an alumni newsletter - an idea created by our WAL, Brother Trish Le!! I'll let her introduce her baby... Hey everyone! The time has finally come! The alumni committee has been working very hard this past month to get this together and is excited to present you with…. Check out the full Gamma Iota 1st Alumni Newsletter here or on the "Publications" page!
We love our new pledges so far! So much, in fact, that a few of the bros decided to put together a review session for the pledges after we noticed how nervous they were about their upcoming self-care exam. They covered the content and test-taking tips. Our Academic Chair even commented on how proud he was of the Deltas who volunteered to impart their wisdom on the little Epsilons. Good job, bros! To get into the holiday spirit, the bros of Gamma Iota decided to have a sleepover! We watched scary movies on our nifty wall projector and told scary stories through the night. Turns out each needs the help of the other... to keep each other company! :) Flu Shot Frenzy! It's flu shot season, and our chapter did two clinics in two weeks! At one of them, we even administered over 500! As a result, now hundreds of Sacramento citizens have gotten free flu shots. It is important for us as pharmacists to give back to our community. I love the feeling of seeing my Phi Delta Chi brothers doing good, one flu shot clinic at a time!
To Rush 2014, that is! We at Gamma Iota had an awesome run and made some great new friends in the process. The final three rush events of the semester were jam-packed into just 10 days... but as with all true leaders, the support from our brothers helped all of us pull through! Not to mention, in between all those events, we even put together a CV workshop for the school! I am constantly blown away by how much our chapter can manage to pull off, and at the quality of results we consistently turn out. We can't wait to see who out of our new batch of potentials will add to our high-caliber group of brothers! < Rush Event: Info Night: Rushees learned what PDC is all about - what we do and what our ideals are, listened to speeches from Gamma Iota brothers (both past and present) and how PDC has impacted their lives, and signed up for interviews. PDC Formal Rush Dinner 2014!Beautiful venue, beautiful speeches, and a beautiful brotherhood. AAAE
P1 Workshop: Operation Self-Care
Elk Grove Hike: Brotherhood in the Neighborhood!Ever since our school moved to Elk Grove, we haven't had a chance to fully explore our new surroundings. Luckily, our Worthy Brotherhood Chair Vivianne Nguyen aimed to rectify this with our first official brotherhood hangout of the semester! She led a few brothers through the (suburban) wilderness as they spent an afternoon hiking and picnic-ing together. Check out the beautiful views, right in our own backyard!
Rush Event #1: BBQ/Pool PartyOur first rush event was a huge success! After months of prep, we finally got to meet the potentials and hang out with them as a chapter. We held our pool party at Lakepoint Apartments - there was delicious food BBQ'd with love by some hardworking bros, good conversation, and even a giant inflatable duck! The bros had tons of fun chatting and getting to know the potentials who came out. It may have been a super hot day, but as usual, PDC kept things cool! Rush Event #2: Water Balloon DodgeballJust in time for the crazy heat Sacramento has been getting, we had our second rush event: a water balloon dodgeball game! The bros had an awesome time bonding with the potentials over balloons and buckets of water. It was nice for all of us to run around and feel like kids again. The bros extend a huge thank you to the rushees who came out to play!
On the heels of yet another amazing club day (it was so fun meeting all the P1s!), the GI bros are hitting the ground running! Less than 24 hours after running a flawless club day booth and display, we're jumping right into some FUN-draising (ha ha) for our alumni committee! Our fundraiser will take place at Bubbles Car Wash in Elk Grove: 8458 Bond Rd.
It's simple: come get your car washed - and part of the proceeds will go to support our chapter. No extra work for you and you will get all our gratitude! SPREAD THE WORD! |
